Hi, my name is Ng Rong Zoe, I’m 18 this year and I was born into a Christian family. Since young, I’ve been following my aunt to church because she is the one who raised me. Both my parents are working in Singapore and they are non-believers. My parents did not forbid me from attending church which allowed me to befriend many church friends. At that time, I did not know why I was going to church. I went mainly to play with my friends. When I was 9 years old, my cousin sister led me to say the sinner’s prayer which was when I started to be more active in church and other related activities. It was my cousin sister You Hwee, who introduced YFC (Youth for Christ) to me. I followed her there a few times and found it interesting. My aunt initially did not allow me to join YFC activities because she thought it was only for fun. Fortunately, a few years back, she changed her mind and allowed me to participate, which is why I especially appreciate my time of learning in YFC.
In the recent years, I’ve learnt so much from YFC and I’m grateful for God’s guidance. It was during Project Serve 1 that I learnt how to share the gospel, how to have quiet time and many more. I’m even more grateful for the opportunity to share the gospel with non-Christians, which has helped me grow in my faith. It was during the evangelistic event “Next Station 8” that I became an assistant leader which was another opportunity to share the gospel and lead people to know the one true God.
It is YFC trainings that taught me to share the gospel, have quiet time and Bible study. The staff also patiently help me understand and apply God’s word. Sometimes I would also share the gospel with my friends using the Bridge to Life. YFC staff are also very concerned about my walk with the Lord.
I hope that YFC can be better and better as they fight the good fight, continue to bring the gospel to every corner of the globe. I’ve also realized that the work of the gospel isn’t only with YFC but is also my responsibility 24/7. Therefore, I need to listen, learn and act.
I believe YFC has an important role to play among youths because there is so much that we can learn, grow and be equipped. I’m grateful that my cousin introduced this organization to me which has influenced me for the better. It is here that many like-minded brothers and sisters work together in God’s kingdom. All the best to you all!
