I came to know of Malaysia Youth for Christ through Ren Peng, a Christian brother who was volunteering there. In 2015, he invited me to participate in a large-scale evangelistic event organised by MYFC, Next Station 6, The Test of the Holy Grail. My role at that event was an assistant group leader for a lower secondary group. I was attracted and surprised by the way the gospel was shared during this event. I also admired the staff for their follow up work with the participants. Seeing their dedication and sincerity has motivated me to participate in their activities.

I have learnt a lot during the four years of serving with MYFC, especially during my time at Project Serve 1 and 2. In Project Serve 1, I learnt how to study the bible, lead bible study and how to care for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Project Serve 1 is a bible camp that is attended by youths from different churches. In this one week, we are to care for our brothers and sisters in Christ while we learn to be rooted in the word of God. Every morning, we would have quiet time, bible study and learn how to share the gospel together. In Project Serve 2, I learnt about the church history and introduction of the Old and New Testament, how to plan an evangelistic event and share the gospel. Project Serve 2 is a platform to allow you an opportunity to serve full-time in ministry for 3 months. In these 3 months, we would go to different schools to approach the students and share the gospel with them. We would also meet the Project Serve 2 volunteers from the other states as we study the Old and New Testament. At the same time, we will also be responsible for preparing a medium-sized evangelistic program targeting about 80 people.

All that I have learnt from MYFC have shaped my life today. What changed the most is my attitude towards sharing the gospel. While serving in Project Serve 2, many of the things we did were related to the gospel. Those 3 months of training and practice as we went to the different schools to share the gospel allowed me to practice sharing my faith with those around me. I have also improved in my discernment while searching for information online regarding the bible. We had to search for a lot of materials while we studied the Old and New Testament and the staff would usually encourage us to get our information from other books. They would remind us that if we were to search for information online, we had to be discerning to check the source of the site. This has gradually become my habit when searching for information online.

I have served with MYFC for quite a while and this has played an important role in guiding and accompanying me in my spiritual growth. I continue to participate in MYFC activities because I feel that their bible study materials and follow up methods are very good. I was willing to be followed-up because I felt their sincerity when they approached me. I hope that MYFC will continue to put their focus on sincerely doing follow-up with the students they meet. I believe that attending Project Serve 1 and 2 has helped Christians students grow and build a good relationship with each other. I hope that the next Project Serve will be even better.

MYFC is very important to me as it has prepared me, spurred me on, rebuked me and helped increase my knowledge of the Lord and myself when I was a teenager. MYFC will accompany youths as they grow and will lead them on the road to God. I believe that MYFC is like a shepherd amidst the youths today.
